As a Trading Operations Analyst Intern, you'll work in the heart of Optiver Chicago's dynamic trading floor solving real-world, on-the-desk challenges. Over the course of ten weeks, you'll gain full insight into what it's like to be a successful Trading Operations Analyst at Optiver, arming you to hit the ground running as a future full-time employee driving innovation and managing the daily operations of our market making activity. What you'll do:

Get ready to be immersed in the fast-paced, dynamic world of market making. As a Trading Operations Analyst Intern, you'll spend the summer learning trading fundamentals and completing projects focused on enhancing and optimizing Optiver's world-class market making infrastructure. You'll develop a broad set of skills across technology, data analysis and automated trading systems and be on the front line of Optiver's innovation pipeline, working cross functionally with developers, quantitative researchers and quantitatitive traders. Plus, you'll be paired with an experienced Trading Operations Analyst who will serve as a mentor and guide your performance.

Internship responsibilities give you insight into full time operational responsibilities which include monitoring strategy performance, managing critical inputs to our trading system and overseeing real-time risk of our trading systems and positions. Our full-time Trading Operations Analysts play a key role in delivering data-driven insights that refine our trading strategies, as well as designing and implementing automated workflows that scale efficiently and safely.

Who you are: Working toward a bachelor's, master's or PhD in a STEM field Junior or higher standing with a graduation date of

Winter 2026 or Spring 2027 Graduated high school in 2023 or prior Proficiency with a programming language, preferably Python Possess superior analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills Excellent communicator and team player Able to work in an accurate and structured way Driven to contstantly improve and optimize Able to work under pressure and muti-task Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment authorization for this job opening

Below is the expected compensation for this position. This is a good-faith estimate of the base pay scale and sign-on bonus for this position and offers will ultimately be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and performance in the interview process. This position will also be eligible for the benefits listed above.

Base Salary Range

$38,000-$38,000 USD
