Clerical Support Clerk

The Office of Child Support is seeking a full-time Clerical Associate II to function as a Clerical Support Clerk. The position is within the Administration & Human Resources category, under the Agency: HRA/Department of Social Services. Job Description: Applicant must be permanent in the Clerical Associate title. The OCSS Borough Offices serve as the entry point for custodial parents who are Cash Assistance applicants and recipients. The role involves performing administrative/clerical work under the supervision of the Clerical Associate III. Key responsibilities include: Performing intake process functions including greeting clients, determining the purpose of client's visit, and verifying cash/medical assistance status. Recording client's arrival in the electronic ticketing system, providing forms and instructions, and preparing electronic case folders. Performing routine clerical functions such as filing, answering telephones, responding to general questions, photocopying, and special project assignments. Utilizing CS Track, email, and regular mail for mailouts and processing requests received from clients and other units. Adding/removing files from cabinets, scanning, indexing, and uploading documents into the HRA One Viewer, and preparing files for record retention or destruction. Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Work Location: 88-11 165th Street, Jamaica, NY CLERICAL ASSOCIATE - 10251 Qualifications: A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and one year of satisfactory clerical experience. Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
