Forensic Inpatient Psychiatry Role
Provide psychiatric care for Bridgeview residents, including medication management and treatment for sexual arousal (SSRIs, antiandrogen therapy). Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain compliance with documentation standards.
Location STARC Oakview (CNYPC), Marcy, NY
Schedule Full-time, 40 hours/week | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Responsibilities
Manage psychiatric medications and treatment plans.
Evaluate established residents at least every three months; assess new residents as needed.
Document in EHR, order medications and labs.
Respond to emergencies (restraints, observation, safety concerns).
Prescribe and monitor psychiatric treatments; adjust as clinically indicated.
Additional Functions
Collaborate with healthcare professionals for continuity of care.
Explain diagnoses and treatments to patients and families.
Refer individuals to other providers when necessary.
Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge planning.
Maintain required documentation.
Consult with other psychiatrists and medical staff.
Provide clinical supervision and training to staff.
Review records for accuracy and appropriateness.
Serve on treatment teams and committees.
Assist in developing and updating psychiatric policies.
Required
NY License, active and unrestricted
Enrolled in NYS Medicare/Medicaid
1-year forensic experience. Experience working with individuals with paraphilias and those who have committed sexual offenses is preferred
