Overview The Neonatal ICU (NICU) at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is a 36‑bed Level IV unit that delivers expert nursing care for critically ill infants. It is one of only two Level IV NICUs in Washington, D.C. and is a Five‑time Designated Magnet® Hospital. Common diagnoses include respiratory distress syndrome, extreme prematurity, neonatal encephalopathy, persistent pulmonary hypertension, sepsis/shock, neurological disorders, genetic/metabolic disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and surgical needs.

Key Responsibilities As a clinical nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to infants and families across a spectrum from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications

ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.

At least one year of hospital‑based, NICU RN experience required.

Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

Hiring Range USD $41.77 – USD $63.66 /Hr.
