General Job Description Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Rheumatologist will provide specialty medical services in a 100 % outpatient setting. The role supports a fast‑paced environment, serves a chronically ill population, and partners with the provider team to deliver excellence and supervise mid‑level providers.

Job Responsibilities

Complete all required documentation accurately, timely, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards and electronic medical record requirements.

Follow FHCSD policies and procedures, including credentialing, CME maintenance, mandatory meetings, incident report minimization, and cost‑effective practice.

Maintain FHCSD behavioral standards and effective communication with colleagues and patients.

Meet productivity expectations and minimum productivity as established by medical leadership.

Maintain satisfactory peer reviews, including assessment of medical information and facilitation of health promotion and disease prevention.

Adhere to clinic schedule, prioritize work, and maintain flexibility to meet site needs.

Participate in the Clinical Outcomes Program and work toward meeting organizational metrics.

Perform administrative duties such as lab reports, chart reviews, and medication refills.

Respond to on‑call schedule in a timely manner.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses

Active Class C California driver’s license with proof of liability insurance; no more than 2 points in the past 12 months, no suspensions in the last 2 years for moving violations, no DUI or reckless driving within 5 years.

Board certified in Rheumatology.

DEA license.

Graduate from an accredited medical school.

Current unrestricted California medical license if applicable.

Experience and Specialized Skills

At least 1 year of experience in Rheumatology; experience with underserved, low‑income, or homeless populations is preferred.

Ability to work effectively with diverse social, cultural, and economic groups.

Basic computer literacy for electronic medical record documentation.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly desired; cultural and linguistic sensitivity required.

Knowledge of detailed medical history taking.

Demonstrated commitment to community medicine.

Salary Range Base salary range: $275,000.00 – $340,000.00. Final compensation will be based on geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and experience.
