About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to support a Medical Payments client in analyzing, redesigning, and optimizing their existing data environment. This role involves hands‑on architecture work, modernization of large production systems, and implementing best‑in‑class data practices using SQL and Azure cloud services.
We seek a candidate able to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high‑performing data solutions. Responsibilities include leading migration and modernization initiatives, developing and optimizing data models, schemas, and integration strategies, implementing data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, partnering with business and technical stakeholders, and ensuring data quality, consistency, security, and accessibility across systems.
Responsibilities
Design, architect, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms.
Lead migration and modernization initiatives across heavy-use production environments.
Develop and optimize data models, schemas, and integration strategies.
Implement data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define and deliver data solutions.
Ensure data quality, consistency, security, and accessibility across systems.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Proven experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or similar role.
Strong proficiency in SQL (query tuning, indexing, stored procedures, performance optimization).
Hands‑on experience with Azure data services such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Functions.
Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing principles.
Knowledge of security best practices, compliance standards, and data governance frameworks.
Preferred Skills
Experience or understanding of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
Familiarity with Big Data technologies (e.g., Databricks, Spark, Hadoop) or modern data platforms.
