Senior Software Engineer – Embedded
Akkodis is seeking a
Senior Software Engineer – Embedded
for a direct job with a client in Rochester, NY. Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field to be considered. You will develop and implement software for embedded systems, design and debug firmware, and optimize system performance and stability.
Key responsibilities involve collaborating with hardware engineers, testing and validating software‑hardware integration, and providing post‑production support.
Responsibilities
Guide the architectural design and evolution of software for automated immunohematology instruments.
Define requirements and User Stories for design changes.
Define and enforce software engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance software capabilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high performance and reliability of systems.
Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
Perform other work‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum five years of relevant experience.
Experience in a regulated industry (FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, IEC 62304).
Strong professional software experience in Windows environments.
Experience with embedded real‑time applications written in C, C++.
Experience with real‑time operating systems and multi‑task/multi‑threaded embedded applications.
Experience setting up and executing the full CI‑CD pipeline.
Experience with image processing, transfer, and storage for high and low resolution images.
Familiarity with a software version control system (Git, SVN, ADO).
Pay Details Rate Range: $110,000 to $120,000 per year. Pay details: $110.00 – $120.00 per year.
