Application Coordinator II – Beaker CP Team Johns Hopkins Medicine, Johns Hopkins Health System, Baltimore, MD 21201. Hybrid/Remote with in‑office 1‑2 days per month and potential weekend work.

Job Overview Epic Application Coordinator II – Junior Level, Beaker CP Team. Day shift, full time. Supports Epic Beaker Clinical Pathology CP team. Preference for candidates with basic knowledge of laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

Employ analytical skills to define system requirements and objectives for applications and interfaces.

Communicate with project team members.

Identify data element needs for clinical and/or business operations.

Prepare written documentation of clinical and/or business operation workflows.

Draft project scope plans, project plans, and issue logs; monitor and report status of assigned project task plans to lead project staff and/or manager.

Act as a liaison to system users and stakeholders to translate clinical/bus­iness requirements into technical requirements, data flows and process flows.

Educate team members on clinical and/or business operations requirements, objectives and the relevant system applications or modules.

Set standards for naming and numbering conventions and security classifications.

Assist in developing risk mitigation strategies.

Support development of reports, validate data, and develop control mechanisms.

Analyze new functionality in releases to determine how it should be used.

Work with subject matter experts and other project team members in design, build, and validation sessions.

Provide technical expertise in the supported application; collaborate with stakeholders to improve application utilization.

Perform system administration and configuration.

Create and document appropriate unit test plans.

Understand how workflow decisions translate to application configurations.

Build system dictionaries and perform test system setups.

Populate databases during the initial system build with vendor assistance.

Collaborate with technical support on install choices, master file and category list set‑up, synonyms and preference lists.

Assist with full system testing and go‑live planning.

Develop test scenarios and conditions with the Enterprise team.

Create and execute system and integration test plans.

Prepare the application live plan.

Participate in training and work with end users.

Aid trainers during user training.

Support the application during and after the live process.

Prioritize and implement requested changes to the system.

Coordinate software updates and changes with users.

Review new vendor software releases and updates to determine which features will be utilized.

Maintain rules for how each new version is released.

Analyse new functionality in new releases to evaluate appropriate use.

Coordinate software updates and changes.

Review and test each new release.

Establish change control processes and procedures.

Identify key dependencies for assigned tasks and manage them to meet milestones.

Coach other team members and work with minimal supervision on tasks of medium complexity.

Report project and staff performance issues to the team lead or manager.

Provide frequent status reports.

Respond to vendor questions.

Education Baccalaureate degree in an education or health‑related field with relevant courses. Professional certifications or related experience may substitute for formal education on a two‑years' experience‑for‑one‑year education basis.

Required Certifications Complete and pass certification in the assigned EPIC application module(s) within 120 days of employment.

Experience

Two years of operational experience in a clinical or healthcare business operations setting, or two years’ experience in Information Technology.

General understanding of workflows in clinical or healthcare business operations.

Preferred Job Qualifications

Experience implementing clinical and/or healthcare business information systems in a large‑scale, complex organization.

Epic certification in the relevant module(s).

Experience in Epic installations.

Knowledge of the current healthcare environment.

Experience developing business and/or clinical workflows related to the assigned application module.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA’s)

Handle analysis, design, system configuration, and testing tasks at a low to medium level of complexity.

Incorporate policies, procedures, and specific clinical practice or business processing needs into information system training.

Excellent customer service skills.

Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills for optimal teamwork and education.

Strong organizational skills in managing multiple priorities.

Use critical thinking skills regarding the use of clinical/business operations software applications.

Detailed understanding of clinical/business operations workflows obtained through validation sessions and system design assistance.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; proficiency in Visio and Project is desirable.

Expertise in technical design techniques for related software applications.

Knowledge of project management principles as they relate to assigned tasks.

Salary Range Minimum $33.41/hour – Maximum $58.48/hour. Compensation is commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
