HOW WILL YOU HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS? The IT Technical Architect (Operational Technologies) is a strategic role providing technical and functional expertise in the implementation of operational systems such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Gas Distribution, and Meter Measurement systems in use by Gas Operations. The Architect will combine deep understanding and experience of shaping functional and technical solutions associated with maximizing the value of the physical assets of the natural gas division. This role requires a deep understanding of how to leverage technology to maximize the value and optimize the lifecycle performance of our Natural Gas Operations-related assets, from compliance to maintenance and daily operations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Bachelor’s degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent discipline from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 8 years of direct work experience performing the Duties & Responsibilities of this position or performing duties closely related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in any combination of SCADA, Meter Measurement, Distribution Systems, and Network Infrastructure.

Deep expertise in SCADA platforms, industrial communications protocols (Ex. Modbus), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) programming concepts, and industrial networking is crucial.

Deep technical knowledge in database design development. This includes expertise in SQL, data modeling, and familiarization with DBMS (Ex. SSMS).

Demonstrated ability to champion a clear vision for domains such as SCADA, Meter Measurement Systems, and Gas Distribution Systems.

Ability to lead the design and implementation of SCADA systems, including RTUs, HMI, and communications protocols.

Possesses in-depth technical expertise of SCADA architecture, including redundancy, failover, and high-availability designs.

Ability to evaluate existing infrastructure and systems to identify gaps and recommend optimal solutions for seamless integration with other systems.

Implement and maintain SCADA system security measures, adhering to industry cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISA-99/IEC 62443) and regulatory TSA requirements.

Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with SCADA systems to ensure reliable operations.

Strong collaborative skills with ability to interact with business partners, IT team members and senior management.

Develops comprehensive documentation for SCADA systems, including integration roadmaps and configuration plans.

Stays current with IT industry trends and emerging technologies; leads application of new technologies.

Expert verbal, written, organizational, analytical and presentation skills. Strong leadership and analytical skills.

Demonstrated ability leading teams in support of business process analysis efforts and educating others in the proper application of tools and techniques.

Understanding of project plans and ability to clearly articulate roles, project goals, and timelines. Understanding of the components of running a fiscally successful project. Demonstrated proficiency at assessing the proposed project plans to ensure all needs are met.

Drives continuous process improvement for SDLC, maintenance, application support, and Information Technology architecture.
