Senior Software Engineer
Location: 400 Spectrum Center Drive, Suite 550, Irvine, CA 92618.
Telecommuting: Work may be performed within normal commuting distance from The Trade Desk, Inc. office in Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities Implement software systems for our main trading UI platform, including developing new features, improving runtime performance of the backend, maintaining the microservices infrastructure in Kubernetes, and building data pipelines with Airflow. Design and build infrastructure to ingest front‑end user interactions, process them with data pipelines, and store the data for downstream analytics and ML workloads. Develop frameworks for A/B testing, allowing engineers to launch scalable tests with monitored metrics and statistically significant conclusions. Contribute to the main UI platform, finding user needs and proposing technical designs that meet those needs efficiently. Troubleshoot bugs and improve existing projects, work on upgrades, including moving to .NET Core or newer SQL Server versions. Coordinate with stakeholders (engineers, project managers, system analysts, business analysts) to define success metrics, expected behaviors, and quantify goals. Define performance expectations for new features, use profiling tools for database queries, diagnose bottlenecks, and validate improvements. Maintain CI/CD pipelines to deploy microservices to multiple environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and command‑line tools.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and at least three (3) years of experience in a related role. Proven experience with C#, .NET, Entity Framework, Razor/cshtml, React, Angular, TypeScript, CSS/SCSS, Node, Microsoft SQL Server, Git, AWS/S3 or similar cloud‑computing tools. Experience with client‑server architecture, localization, accessibility, modern testing methodologies, SaaS, CI/CD pipelines, and data‑driven KPIs. Minimum one (1) year of experience with Kubernetes and microservices development.
Benefits Salary range: $166,500 - $249,700 per year (actual amount may differ based on location, experience, and skills). Additional compensation may include stock‑based grants, sales‑based incentives, and commissions.
