Under the supervision of a Neuropsychologist, the psychometrician is responsible for administering and interpreting various neuropsychological tests to adult and geriatric patients. Tests selected must be consistent with or based on the age and the developmental status of the patient. The psychometrician works with other professionals within and outside of the health system to maximize clinical outcomes for the patient. Responsibilities include knowledge and application of health system policies and procedures, administration and scoring of neuropsychological and psychological tests under direct supervision, assisting in documenting results and writing reports, helping patients and family members with forms, patient visit documentation in electronic medical records, coordinating scheduling with care team members, effective communication with patients and healthcare workers, reporting changes in patient condition, participating in treatment planning, maintaining test materials, updating normative data, coordinating office functions, assisting with research studies, openness to feedback and consultation, providing feedback to others, and maintaining professional boundaries. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Sociology, good interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational and time management skills, and a positive attitude toward impaired patients.
