Natixis Investment Managers is seeking a dynamic and experienced Technology Manager to lead our Direct Indexing Technology Team. This team is responsible for building and maintaining platforms that power direct indexing strategies, trade optimization, and scalable account management. As the manager, you will oversee a team of engineers and collaborate closely with portfolio managers, and portfolio strategists to deliver innovative solutions in the rapidly evolving space of direct indexing. They would be responsible for managing and delivering solutions to the business. And provide technical directions to the team and a mentor to others. This position can be located in either Boston, MA or San Francisco, CA. This position is a hybrid position and does require employees to be in the office a minimum of 2/3 days a week (preferably Tuesday and Wednesdays).
What you will do: Drive the technical roadmap for direct indexing capabilities, including tax-loss harvesting, and custom indexing. Ensure high-quality software delivery through agile methodologies, CI/CD practices, and robust testing. Collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to ensure scalability, security, and performance. Partner with Portfolio, Client Service and Operations teams to define and prioritize features. Oversee business requirements into technical specifications and project plans. Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders at all levels. Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers focused on direct indexing solutions. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance reviews and support career development. Stay current with industry trends in wealth tech, portfolio construction, and tax optimization. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls. What you will bring: Experience/Skills Required 10+ years of IT experience and 5+ years with senior level programming and architecting responsibility, preferably in financial services Advanced knowledge of direct indexing systems, including tax optimization engines, trade execution platforms, portfolio rebalancing, pre-trade compliance tools, and trader-facing order management systems. Background with modern tech stacks (e.g., Python, Java, AWS, Kubernetes, REST APIs). Familiarity with optimizers (e.g., Axioma, Northfield) Experience with financial data providers (e.g., S&P Global, Morningstar, FactSet) Familiar with public cloud infrastructure Experience with SDLC processes Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Experience/Skills Preferred
Computer Science degree or equivalent experience preferred Experience in fintech, asset management, or wealth management platforms. Knowledge of direct indexing, or tax-aware portfolio construction. Familiarity with Vestmark (or related TAMP) a plus. Experience leading agile teams. Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors.
