Our client is a landscape civil construction company operating in New York and New Jersey, specializing in large-scale site development projects that integrate both landscaping and civil infrastructure. Their services often include land grading, drainage systems, retaining walls, hardscaping, and planting for commercial, municipal, and institutional clients, ensuring compliance with regional building codes and environmental regulations. They have $60 million in projects lined up and are scheduled on work for the next 5 years. Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for: Oversee day-to-day on-site construction activities for landscape and civil projects. Ensure work is performed according to engineering drawings, specifications, and safety standards. Coordinate and manage subcontractors, labor crews, and equipment. Monitor project schedules and progress, adjusting resources to meet deadlines. Communicate with project managers, engineers, and clients to report on progress and resolve issues. Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with local regulations. Manage materials logistics, including delivery, storage, and inventory tracking. Enforce safety protocols and conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings. Interpret blueprints and site plans to guide construction operations. Assist in budgeting, cost control, and documentation of project activities. A candidate should demonstrate the following qualities and achievements: Proven track record of completing complex landscape and civil projects on time and within budget. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse crews and subcontractors effectively. Deep understanding of site development processes, including grading, drainage, hardscaping, and planting. Excellent knowledge of construction plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements in New York and New Jersey. Exceptional problem-solving skills to quickly resolve on-site issues and unforeseen challenges. Consistent enforcement of safety standards, resulting in minimal incidents or accidents. Effective communication with clients, project managers, and inspectors to maintain transparency and alignment. Ability to coordinate multiple trades and phases of construction simultaneously. Keen attention to detail, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with design intent. Adaptability to changing site conditions, weather delays, and project revisions. What's on Offer
