Sales Engineer Defense

PALFINGER AG Develop tailored solutions and system configurations that align with customer expectations during the proposal phase. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. R&D, Procurement) to ensure the feasibility and accuracy of proposed solutions. Provide first-hand technical support to customers and internal stakeholders as needed. Build expertise in our product line (knuckle boom crane, Load Handling systems and Forklifts), delivering solutions tailored to customer needs. Track industry trends and competitor offerings to help shape sales strategies and product positioning. Participate in future product development projects.
Your Responsibilities
Develop tailored solutions and system configurations that align with customer expectations during the proposal phase. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. R&D, Procurement) to ensure the feasibility and accuracy of proposed solutions. Provide first-hand technical support to customers and internal stakeholders as needed. Build expertise in our product line (knuckle boom crane, Load Handling systems and Forklifts), delivering solutions tailored to customer needs. Track industry trends and competitor offerings to help shape sales strategies and product positioning. Participate in future product development projects.
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related technical field. 3–5 years of experience in a Sales Engineer or Technical Sales role, preferably in the industrial/heavy equipment or defense sector. Knowledge of truck upfitting, lifting solutions, or MIL-specs requirements is a strong plus.Experience with CAD tools preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally (approx. 15%, depending on project and project phase). This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. - 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
What We Offer
Salary range $85,000 to $99,000 + bonus eligible 401(k) with Company match. Medical, dental, vision, life, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and short- and long-term disability (depending upon state).
