Key Responsibilities Lead testing and optimization of advanced mechatronic automation systems. Design and execute comprehensive experiments to validate machine performance, establish operational boundaries, and drive design improvements. Apply statistical methods to analyze test results, troubleshoot complex process issues, and develop innovative solutions. Participate in technical reviews and influence automation architecture decisions to ensure optimal performance outcomes. Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Simulation, Business Intelligence, Operations, and Process Engineering teams to define and validate performance requirements that exceed customer expectations. Create structured test plans, conduct rigorous performance evaluations, identify system limitations, and translate technical findings into actionable business insights. Build self-service tools to streamline testing procedures and maintain detailed documentation of testing protocols and results. A Day in the Life You will be at the forefront of validating and optimizing our next-generation automation systems. Your day could include designing sophisticated test plans, running complex experiments, and analyzing real-time performance data. You would collaborate with design engineers to identify reliability improvements and dive deep into statistical analysis to influence critical design decisions. About the Team Innovation and Design Engineering are a cross-functional team of mechatronic engineers, controls engineers, data engineers, and simulation scientists with a critical business mission making revolutionary leaps forward in logistics automation. We design and build mechatronic systems including robotics, conveyoring, automated storage and vision systems to improve safety, speed and quality in the last mile (AMZL) of Amazon across the world. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field. 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in manufacturing, logistics or similar fields. Hands on experience in automation validation. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree, or advanced technical degree. Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and techniques, including Python, R, Minitab, JMP, Power BI, Tableau, and SQL. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market.
