Data Architect / Principal Data Engineer

Job DescriptionJob Description ComResource is looking for a Data Architect / Principal Data Engineer. We need someone to assist in designing, developing, and supporting scalable data solutions that drive business value across cloud and on-prem environments. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and support data solutions, APIs, tools, and processes for rapid delivery of business capabilities. Collaborate with IT application teams, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, information security, and stakeholders to translate strategies into data-driven solutions. Act as a technical expert addressing system and application design, performance, integration, and security. Conduct research and development based on current data engineering, architecture, and security trends. Build CI/CD pipelines, self-service build tools, and automated deployment processes. Evaluate software products and provide documented recommendations. Provide support and troubleshooting for data platforms, including escalated on-call support for critical incidents. Participate in planning for hardware and software, and lead internal projects including legacy system replacement, monitoring improvements, and technical documentation. Provide technical guidance and mentoring for team members. Manage and prioritize multiple assignments. Essentials: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. 7+ years of IT work experience relevant to the role. Strong communication skills, able to tailor to management, business, and technical audiences. Working knowledge of application and data security best practices and common vulnerabilities. Experience with DBT, Snowflake, and SQL. Experience with big data technologies, ETL tools, BI/reporting tools, messaging systems, data warehousing, and REST API development.
