Construction Accounting & Job Costing

Oversee job cost accounting for all active construction projects. Monitor project budgets, actual costs, and profitability. Prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports. Manage change order tracking and cost impact analysis. Coordinate monthly project billing cycles including progress billings/pay applications, retention tracking, and lien waivers. Financial Management & Reporting

Direct monthly and year-end financial close. Prepare and deliver financial statements to leadership. Manage cash flow forecasting and daily cash management. Provide project financial performance analysis to project managers and executives. Manage compliance with GAAP and construction accounting best practices. Budgeting & Forecasting

Lead annual corporate budgeting process. Prepare project-level budgets in collaboration with operations. Provide variance analysis and performance reporting. Compliance & Audit

Oversee tax filings and regulatory compliance. Liaise with external auditors, banking partners, and surety partners. Ensure compliance with contractual terms on construction projects. Leadership & Team Management

Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting/finance team (as the company grows). Drive process improvement and automation in accounting workflows. Collaborate with operations leadership on strategic initiatives. Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA preferred, not required. Experience 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance, Minimum of 7 years of construction industry experience, ideally in commercial construction (GC or large subcontractor). Proven track record managing job cost accounting and WIP reporting. Hands-on experience with construction ERP systems (Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation, Procore-integrated solutions, Spectrum or equivalent). Skills & Competencies Expertise in GAAP, construction accounting, and project-based financial management. Deep understanding of WIP, retention billing, lien management, and project profit forecasting. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across accounting, operations, and leadership. Proficiency in Excel and relevant accounting systems. Nice to Have Experience with multi-entity financial management. Experience supporting banking and bonding relationships. Exposure to commercial real estate development or design-build projects. What's on Offer
