Union Dues are 1.44% of Bi-Weekly Pay Career Summary: The Data Governance team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our data and analytics team to build and maintain data infrastructure and data pipelines to enable analytics, including advanced analytics and machine learning models. Manages and coordinates with internal or external parties the collection, compilation, normalization, and analysis of data assets across diverse projects and platforms. Serves as a data subject matter expert, collaborating with business owners or external clients to establish analysis plans, and delivers reports and insights. Generates operational reports supporting objectives and communicates complex data results to audiences. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of hands-on experience in designing and building scalable data pipelines, with expertise in Databricks, Apache Spark, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). The role requires proficiency in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and monitoring of data workflows. This position is key to optimizing data architecture, enabling advanced analytics, and supporting data governance and security standards. What You Will Do: Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines for analytics, AI/ML, and business intelligence. Troubleshoot pipeline failures, latency issues, and infrastructure bottlenecks, implementing monitoring and alerts. Lead adoption of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and workflow orchestration. Implement ETL/ELT solutions for data ingestion, transformation, and integration from multiple sources. Build and manage RESTful APIs with OAuth, JSON parsing, and scalable pipelines. Translate business requirements into technical solutions aligned with data strategies. Manage and optimize Azure cloud storage for cost and performance. Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency through validation and monitoring frameworks. Evaluate emerging data technologies to enhance scalability and innovation. Define and enforce data governance, security, and compliance policies. Optimize query performance, indexing, and partitioning for data accessibility. Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver data solutions. Mentor junior engineers, fostering best practices and continuous improvement. Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field. Experience:
7+ years building enterprise-level data solutions on cloud platforms. Skills: Expertise in Databricks, including workflows for scalable data pipelines and ML workflows. Proficiency in Python and SQL for data engineering and analytics. Experience with Apache Spark (PySpark) for large-scale data processing. Experience integrating data from social media via RESTful APIs, OAuth, JSON. Strong DevOps skills, including CI/CD, automation, monitoring with tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform. Experience with data pipeline design, streaming, batch processing, orchestration (Databricks, Airflow, Kafka). Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, and data warehouse platforms like Azure Synapse. Knowledge of data governance, quality, lineage, cataloging, security standards (GDPR, CCPA). Experience with data quality tools like Unity Catalog, Great Expectations. Cloud architecture experience on Azure, using Data Factory, Key Vault, Monitor. Experience with ML lifecycle management using MLflow. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes is a plus. Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and debugging skills. Preferred:
