Fitness Consultant - Lido Aquatic Centre/Palmy Powerhouse Facility
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Fitness Consultant / Instructor to join our vibrant team. The successful applicant will lead strength & conditioning classes for elderly clients and functional fitness group classes for our diverse member base. This role also includes front-desk reception duties, requiring excellent communication and computer skills.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver safe, engaging, and effective strength & conditioning classes for elderly clients. Instruct functional fitness group classes, catering to varying fitness levels. Offer guidance and support to members on proper exercise technique and general fitness. Maintain a positive, motivating, and inclusive training environment. Assist with day-to-day reception duties, including member enquiries, bookings, and administrative tasks. Communicate effectively with members and staff to ensure a high level of service. Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately. Cleaning duties done promptly each shift. Requirements: Applicants must have: Demonstrated experience working with elderly clients. A minimum of 2 year of experience as a fitness instructor. Proven experience leading group fitness and functional fitness classes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Competency in basic computer tasks (email, booking systems, data entry). A current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain). Relevant fitness qualifications (e.g., NZ Certificate in Exercise, REPs registration, or equivalent). Friendly, approachable, and professional manner. Passionate about health and wellbeing, particularly for older adults. Ability to adapt workouts to suit a variety of individual needs and limitations. High standard of personal integrity and reliability. A team player with a strong work ethic. Hours: Full-time. 30 hours per week. Flexible hours. We run on a 7-day roster.
