Overview: The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for providing both remote and onsite technical support. This role requires a high level of analytical thinking and problem-solving ability to ensure exceptional customer service across diverse technical environmentsfrom small single-office setups to complex, multi-location enterprise networks. As a key point of contact, the IT Systems Engineer frequently leads client projects and communications, shaping the client experience. Working in collaboration with a designated IT Systems Architect, this role plays a central part in lifecycle management of client IT infrastructures. The IT Systems Engineer also acts as an escalation point for internal team issues, particularly in areas involving server or domain-based systems, offering technical expertise and guidance as needed. Key Responsibilities: Provide ongoing monitoring and technical support for client infrastructure, including servers, workstations, switches, routers, firewalls, and specialized equipment. Implement and support Microsoft-based server environments (on-premises and cloud), tailored to client-specific performance and availability requirements. Support Microsoft business applications, Azure integrations, and proprietary backup and disaster recovery solutions. Manage support tickets through their full lifecycle, from opening to resolution and closure. Deliver services through onsite visits or remote methods such as remote desktop, phone support, or online collaboration tools. Lead or contribute to the implementation of client technology projects. Share knowledge and collaborate with team members to promote continuous improvement and innovation. Assist in evaluating and enhancing company's service offerings. Train end-users on effective use of computers, servers, and network resources. Qualifications: A Microsoft certification (server or related technology),
or
an associate degree or higher in a relevant field. Advanced experience working within Microsoft Server domain environments (Server 2016 or newer). Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, and hybrid infrastructure environments. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Business cloud services and Windows 11 (version 24H2 or newer). Familiarity with Office 2021 or later. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for both workstations and networks. Competency with firewalls, routers, switches, and advanced network design. Understanding of IP networking principles. Ability to perform some physical work, including lifting and handling IT equipment. Preferred Skills & Traits: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Highly motivated and self-directed. Commitment to understanding and supporting assigned client environments in detail. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, tasks, and schedules (including occasional after-hours work). Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team. Creative, resourceful problem-solving abilities. Willingness to travel within a 50-mile radius of Tampa, FL. Reliable transportation and valid insurance. Sound decision-making and organizational skills to effectively balance competing priorities.
