About the Company A dynamic and growing organization is seeking an experienced Director of Compensation and Benefits to lead the strategy, design, and administration of total rewards programs. This high-impact role is responsible for ensuring compensation and benefits offerings are competitive, equitable, and aligned with broader business goals—all while maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting talent attraction and retention. About the Role The Director of Compensation and Benefits will develop and drive the organization’s total rewards strategy, including base pay, incentive programs, health and welfare plans, retirement benefits, and employee perks. Responsibilities Develop and drive the organization’s total rewards strategy, including base pay, incentive programs, health and welfare plans, retirement benefits, and employee perks. Conduct market benchmarking and internal equity analyses to guide compensation decisions and maintain competitive positioning. Design and oversee executive compensation programs, collaborating with senior leadership and/or the board’s compensation committee. Lead the annual compensation cycle, including salary reviews, bonus planning, and merit processes. Manage relationships with external vendors and brokers, negotiating cost-effective and high-quality benefits offerings. Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local laws (FLSA, ACA, ERISA, etc.). Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and leadership to align rewards strategies with workforce planning and organizational priorities. Serve as a subject matter expert on compensation philosophy, policies, and governance, providing training and support to HR and business leaders. Stay informed of market trends, legislative updates, and best practices to proactively evolve the organization’s offerings. Prepare and present analytical insights and reports to senior stakeholders as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA is a plus. Professional certification strongly preferred (CCP, CEBS, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar). 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a compensation and benefits leadership capacity. Strong command of data analysis and modeling tools; advanced Excel and HRIS systems experience (ADP preferred). Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
