This person will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations across multiple distribution centers in North America. This role involves managing internal engineers, external consultants, vendors, and project managers to ensure successful execution of large-scale initiatives, including multi-million-dollar capital projects. The position requires strategic leadership, financial oversight, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence. This leader will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following key duties: Key Responsibilities: Act as the primary engineering resource for multimillion-dollar projects, providing technical guidance and executive-level insight.

Oversee engineering operations for multiple distribution centers across North America, lead cross-functional teams, and provide expertise in facility layout, automation design, and process optimization.

Lead and manage large-scale engineering projects from conception through completion.

Develop strategic roadmaps for engineering initiatives to optimize throughput and cost efficiency.

Develop executive-level presentations and board papers for capital investment approvals.

Ensure projects meet objectives, timelines, and budgets by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Direct and influence project managers, vendors, and consultants to achieve project milestones.

Manage a team of internal engineers, analysts, and consultants and provide technical leadership and mentorship to ensure consistency with best practices.

Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term engineering strategies and capital planning.

Manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring financial accuracy and alignment with business objectives.

Contribute to ROI evaluations and risk assessments for new projects.

Partner cross-functionally with IT, Procurement, Systems, Operations and other corporate teams to drive project success.

Provide consistent and timely communication with supply chain leadership, to present current status, acquire consensus of future needs and forecasts, and mitigate potential risk.

Performs network and facility level analysis of operational data and metrics; provides recommendations based on analysis of key metrics that directly impact operational costs.

Identifies and implements expense reduction opportunities related to overall supply chain initiatives.

Evaluates and designs facility layouts including storage racks, conveyors, automation, and other material handling solutions for the North America Supply Chain Distribution Network.

Acts as the subject matter expert on the labor management program; leads and manages labor management projects and activities utilizing data from the WMS, WES, Automation software and other databases.

Performs root cause analysis and develops analytical tools to improve problem-solving processes.

Required Education and/or Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Experience: 10+ years in engineering leadership roles with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.

Strong expertise: Project management, vendor coordination, financial oversight, and executive-level communication.

Experience: Distribution center operations and process optimization.

Proficiency: Data analysis, financial modeling, and project management tools.

Required Computer and Technical Skills: Proficiency in G-Suite (Google Docs, Sheets and Slides) or Microsoft Office equivalent programs. Data mining fundamentals required.
