As the Director of Preconstruction, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the early stages of our projects. You'll lead a dynamic team of estimators, collaborate with project executives and design professionals, and ensure seamless transitions from concept to construction. This is a key leadership role with direct impact on company strategy, client relationships, and project profitability. Job Description Oversee all aspects of the preconstruction process from initial concept through project handoff. Lead and mentor a team of estimators and preconstruction professionals. Manage cost estimating, value engineering, and constructability reviews for a wide range of commercial and municipal projects. Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams. Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, and bid strategies. Identify and assess risk factors and provide innovative solutions. Stay current with local market trends, subcontractor relationships, and construction technologies. The Successful Applicant Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Minimum of 12 years' experience in preconstruction/estimating within the commercial construction industry. At least 5 years of leadership experience in a preconstruction or estimating director role. Deep understanding of commercial and municipal project types. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Sage, ProEst, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam).
