Senior Bridge Engineer / Bridge Task Leader

to lead structural design efforts from their Spokane office.

This is a leadership role suited for a seasoned bridge engineer ready to take ownership of complex infrastructure projects, mentor junior engineers, and work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-impact results.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

Serve as lead engineer on bridge and structural projects for highway, rail, and transit.

Oversee all project phases, from preliminary studies and technical reports to final design, cost estimates, and construction support.

Review structural calculations, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality. Project Management

Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to meet client and agency standards.

Perform condition inspections, load ratings, and structural evaluations on existing bridges.

Ensure projects are delivered with constructability and long-term performance in mind. Mentorship & Collaboration

Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior staff.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive project delivery.

Contribute to proposal development and support strategic business development initiatives. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

12+ years of bridge engineering experience

Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington or Idaho

Proficiency in software such as SAP2000, Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PGSuper, Conspan, LPile, BRASS

Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Strong leadership, communication, and client-interfacing skills

Ability to perform field inspections Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Structural Engineering

Structural Engineer (SE) license in Washington or Idaho

Experience with WSDOT and ITD bridge design standards
