Our client is one of Portland's largest and well-established GC's in the Pacific Northwest. They span across the multifamily and commercial fields, oversees ground up and tenant improvement projects with a pipeline of $300M. Job Description
Key responsibilities: Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for multifamily projects (typically 100+ units). Develop, maintain, and drive the construction schedule in coordination with the Project Manager. Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, field staff, and inspectors to ensure timely and high-quality execution. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards. Conduct daily site walks, safety meetings, and progress updates. Collaborate closely with internal project teams including PMs, APMs, and Preconstruction to ensure seamless execution. Maintain daily field reports, inspection logs, and accurate job site records. Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact project timelines or budgets. Oversee logistics including deliveries, material storage, site access, and crane/lift use (if applicable). Interface with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors in a professional and timely manner. 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a superintendent role focused on multifamily projects. Proven experience leading ground-up multifamily projects valued at $10M-$50M+. Strong knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and inspections in the Portland area. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, etc.). OSHA 30 Certification required. CPR/First Aid and other relevant safety certifications preferred. Preferred skills: Experience with podium, wrap, and garden-style apartment construction. Background working with wood-frame and Type III/V construction. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) coordination. LEED or sustainable construction experience a plus.
