American Cruise Lines . American Cruise Lines is seeking River Nav Mate Pilots for our growing fleet sailing unique itineraries along inland waterways of the Mississippi-Ohio-Cumberland Rivers. Our U.S. flag ships are state-of-the-art, designed for safe operation and five-star service to 100-200 guests. Nav Mates are senior shipboard watch officers responsible for safe vessel operations, adherence to company and regulatory standards, and representing the company as professional leaders and examples. Our Nav Mates are experienced mariners with piloting experience in challenging coastal and river waterways. They are prudent decision-makers, continually assessing potential risks weeks, days, and hours ahead of the vessel and crew. Our Nav Mates are meticulous professionals, dedicated to guest service and setting a positive example for their crews. Nav Mates enjoy comfortable onboard stateroom accommodations and chef-prepared meals. The company operates its own bridge simulator for rigorous recurrent training focused on critical decision-making and advanced piloting skills. Ensure the safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel. Operate vessels safely, adhering to company and regulatory standards. Perform prudent vessel piloting and maneuvering. Conduct comprehensive daily inspections of all vessel interior and exterior spaces. Maintain administrative logs, reports, and communications. Lead efforts to maintain a safe, secure, clean, and comfortable onboard environment for passengers and crew. Typical season runs from March to November, with 4-6 weeks on and 2-3 weeks off. Qualifications
U.S. Coast Guard Master’s license: minimum 100T, desired 1600T or greater. Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). Experience on coastal and river waterways: minimum 2 years, desired 5 years with Z-drive experience. Excellent communication and team-building skills. Pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random testing. Perks
