Voice Systems Engineer . The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in upgrading the Airspace System (NAS) infrastructure. This is a remote position that may require occasional overnight travel to Washington, DC, and/or other locations as needed. Position is a full-time, exempt role. Responsibilities: The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating complex Air-to-Ground (A/G) radio, voice switch, voice control systems (VCS), voice recording, and protocol conversion systems used for operational Air Traffic Control (ATC) communications. They will play a key role in system engineering and R&D related to product design during pre-delivery, integration, and acceptance phases. The products mainly involve digital radio and voice systems installed in FAA facilities, equipped with IP technology for secure voice and data communication (VoIP), enabling air-ground communications across the U.S. Duties include planning and executing technical programs, managing customer interactions, requirements development, design reviews, technical exchanges, and all aspects of prototype/product system design, development, demonstration, evaluation, installation, acceptance, and O&M support. Qualifications: Required: Ability to obtain a US Government Public Trust clearance. Bachelor's degree in electrical, aerospace, systems, or computer engineering, or related field. At least 5 years' experience with real-time ED-137 compliant UHF/VHF radio and voice switching system architectures. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience developing implementation and transition plans for telecommunications, radio, and voice systems. Ability to operate and maintain engineering tools, including hardware/software. Skills in field implementation, customer service, and electronics installation. Strong interpersonal skills for maintaining effective work relationships. Problem-solving, data analysis, and effective communication skills. Ability to multitask and adapt to evolving priorities. Discretion in handling sensitive information. Preferred: Master's degree in relevant engineering fields. Experience leading RF mission system development and integration. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience developing performance specifications and SOWs. Experience working on multidisciplinary teams and creating testing procedures. Experience with agile development methodologies. Location: Preferably East Coast. Travel: 10-30% travel expected. Physical & Background Requirements: Extended computer use. Must pass a government public trust background check.
