As a Sterile Processing Technician, you play a role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients. You are responsible for meticulously cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and storing all reusable surgical instruments. Furthermore, you are instrumental in providing all necessary instruments for surgery and other hospital departments. Your dedication and attention to detail are vital in delivering the highest standard of care. Your duties include: inspecting, assembling, and testing general and specialty instrumentation for proper functioning; operating and maintaining all sterilization equipment; preparing, assembling, and packaging all instruments for surgery and other hospital departments; preparing surgical sets, instruments, and trays according to prescribed procedures; pulling customized case cart sheets for all surgical procedures and preparing case carts; auditing trays for decontamination, washing, assembly, sterilization, implant usage, and instrument count sheets; tracking loaner equipment; and creating and maintaining accurate records regarding inventories, instrument set content, sterilized goods, biological test results, sterilization, and washing records for infection control practice. Medical City McKinney opened its doors more than 90 years ago. We are a 285+ bed acute care hospital. We serve the residents of McKinney and northern Collin County. Our main campus is a Level III Trauma Center. We provide emergency services at our main campus and at Medical City ER Stonebridge. We have cardiovascular and neurological services. We offer general surgery, orthopedics, and women's services. Additionally, a Level II neonatal intensive care unit and behavioral health services. Medical City McKinney is a Primary Stroke Center. We are also a stroke rehabilitation center. We are certified by The Joint Commission for total hip and total knee replacement. We are a part of the Medical City network of hospitals.
