Director of Nursing (DON)

Experience & Requirements Associate degree or RN Diploma required. Bachelors degree in Nursing highly preferred. Three (3) to Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in healthcare / nursing administration. Three (3) to Five (5) years of professional nursing experience. Active RN license in the state where the position is located with unrestricted/non-probationary status. Specialty certification (e.g., CCHP, ACHE) desired. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook. Requires critical thinking, organizational skills, decisive judgment, effective communication, and good customer service skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks, work under stress, and take appropriate actions. Must follow YesCare and departmental policies and procedures. Subject to security clearance requirements. Responsibilities Supervise nursing staff, unlicensed personnel, and ancillary healthcare staff. Manage departmental budgets, supplies, and medication. Report to higher management. Maintain high standards of patient care. Manage confidential patient data and records. Communicate with doctors, patients, and families regarding healthcare needs. Recruit, train, and onboard nursing staff and assistive personnel. Provide ongoing education and coordinate training programs. Implement and monitor new procedures and policies. Ensure staffing levels meet patient care needs and regulatory requirements. Support professional nursing staff in patient care. Develop and maintain nursing schedules. Ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards. Act as liaison with external agencies and officials. Maintain accurate nursing records. Monitor and participate in quality improvement activities. Promote a professional environment with conflict resolution. Follow safety protocols and use PPE as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
