Overview AJANTA CONSULTING, LLC Telework THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON BID AWARD The Data Scientist will provide technical and professional support to the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) Aerospace Medicine Consultation Division, specifically to support clinical and operational data analysis. Responsibilities Develop, deploy, and tune novel unsupervised tree-based clustering machine learning models. Describe how several classes of algorithms work. Explain in detail how a decision tree works and be able to code it from scratch. Differentiate between density-based and binning-based clustering. Explain how the k-nearest neighbors algorithm works and implement it from scratch. Be able to describe an optimized version if only the naive implementation is possible. Write an optimized list sorting algorithm from scratch within an hour, without external resources. Demonstrate how to generate and minimize the size of a distance matrix in code, including writing vectorized code. Obtain HIPAA training upon starting work. Maintain HIPAA standards and prevent data leaks. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in an Applied Quantitative field. Preferred fields include Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, and Economics. Minimum three (3) years of experience in deploying predictive analytics. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience with Python and object-oriented programming. Experience with data manipulation tools like Numpy and Pandas. Experience with plotting libraries such as Matplotlib. Experience with Sci-Kit Learn and open-source machine learning software in Python. Experience collaborating with software engineers to develop dashboards for AI interaction (Preferred). Experience developing with pre-trained language models (Preferred). Experience with Dimensionality Reduction techniques (Preferred). Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other GPU-enabled deep learning libraries (Preferred). Experience working with USAFSAM (Preferred). Familiarity with human biology (Preferred). Familiarity with human performance (Preferred). Other duties as assigned.
