Our client is a prestigious, internationally recognized law firm headquartered in New York City. With a longstanding reputation for excellence, the firm represents high-profile clients across corporate, litigation, private client, and real estate matters. They are currently seeking a Fiduciary Accountant to join their Private Client Department and support the accounting and compliance needs of complex trusts, estates, and related entities. Job Description

Prepare fiduciary accountings for trusts and estates in accordance with court and client requirements. Coordinate the preparation and filing of federal and state fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041), estate tax returns (Form 706), and gift tax returns (Form 709). Review trust instruments, wills, and related documents to determine financial implications and reporting obligations. Reconcile bank and investment accounts; maintain general ledgers for assigned entities. Track income, expenses, distributions, and capital gains/losses. Assist with audits, probate court submissions, and client communications. Liaise with attorneys and wealth advisors to advise on fiduciary issues and best practices. Stay current on developments in trust/estate taxation and fiduciary accounting rules. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred. 3+ years of fiduciary accounting experience, ideally in a law firm, trust company, or wealth management environment. Strong knowledge of fiduciary taxation, court accounting rules, and trust/estate administration. Experience with fiduciary accounting software (e.g., OneSource, GEMS, or similar) highly preferred. High proficiency in Excel; experience with general ledger systems a plus. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
