Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Applications Development in a multi-faceted, multi-location academic setting, the Senior Applications Developer designs, modifies, develops, writes, and implements software applications and components; supports and/or installs software applications; works from written specifications and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions and maintains documentation of process flow. Responsibilities: Proficient in configuring Salesforce using workflows, Process Builder, validation rules, Formula Fields, and Flow. Proficient in Salesforce security models such as roles, profiles, permission sets, and sharing rules. Proficient in building and managing customer and partner portals using Salesforce Community Cloud (Experience Cloud) to enhance user engagement and collaboration. Design, develop, and implement custom functionalities using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components, and other Salesforce technologies. Integrate Salesforce with external systems and third-party applications using REST APIs, SOAP, and middleware tools to streamline data flow and improve business processes. Strong hands-on knowledge in writing highly optimized and bulkified Apex triggers and classes. Understand the architecture, capabilities, and constraints of Salesforce applications and platform. Support testing processes, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, to deliver high-quality solutions. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all Salesforce solutions, including design specifications, configurations, and customizations. Participate in an on-call rotation to provide support during off-hours and weekends, as needed. Resolve production issues swiftly to minimize downtime and ensure system performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, analysts, and managers to understand requirements and design scalable Salesforce solutions. Exposure to Agentforce or similar AI-driven platforms is a plus, enhancing Salesforce functionalities through automation and advanced insights. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, with a strong understanding of platform capabilities and best practices. At least 3 years of specialized experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Lightning Web Components, along with proficiency in Salesforce development tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex requirements and translate them into effective solutions. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders. At least 2 years of experience with agile development methodologies and tools. Strong time management skills, ability to multitask, work with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines. Willingness to work a flexible schedule. This is an onsite position at our Irvine office.
