Position Summary:
TheStravitz-Sanyal Liver Institute at VCU, is seeking a motivated anddetail-oriented Senior Research Imaging Program Manager who will oversee thestrategic planning and execution of research initiatives at a state-of-the-artImaging Center. This position will be responsible for leading, coordinating,and overseeing the research program focused on radioisotope-based imagingtechnologies. This includes executingresearch strategies, and ensuring the successful advancement of all studies.The role will involve liaising with academic researchers, healthcareprofessionals, industry partners, and regulatory bodies to foster collaborationand drive impactful discoveries aimed at improving patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Strategy:
-Responsible for the management and execution of all research imaging studies. -Collaborate with PI'sand senior leadership to develop and refine program goals, objectives, and keyperformance indicators.
Project Management:
-Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables for grant funded research initiative -Manage the day-to-day operations of all projects -Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to PI's and senior leadership. -Oversee the timelinesand submission deadlines of research proposals, grants, and publications.
Cross-FunctionalCollaboration:
-Work closely with clinical, preclinical, regulatory, and data management teams to ensure integrated and efficient research efforts. -Manage partnershipsand collaborations with key external partners.
Budget and ResourceManagement:
-Oversee the financial aspects of research projects, ensuring that they remain within budget and are cost-effective. -Identify resource needs and work with internal teams to ensure appropriate allocation of personnel and funding.
ResearchDevelopment:
-Cultivate relationships with funding agencies, stakeholders, and donors to support ongoing and future projects.
Minimum Hiring Standards/Qualifications:
-Education:A Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field (e.g., biomedical imaging,neuroscience, biophysics, engineering, or a related field).
-Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in research program management, with at least3 years in a leadership role in a research facility involving imagingtechnologies that uses radioisotopes. -TechnicalExpertise: Strong understanding of imaging modalities (e.g., MRI, PET, CT) inboth preclinical and clinical research, deep knowledge of radiochemistry andradiation safety protocols. -ProjectManagement: Proven ability to manage complex research projects, includingbudgeting, scheduling and resource allocation.
-Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. -Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of individuals. -Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
