Our Mission: Building the nation's preeminent eye care services company by partnering with world class physicians to drive superior clinical and surgical outcomes, while optimizing the patient experience.Position Summary Surgical Technician assists in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established federal, state and accreditation standards and facility policies and procedures. Assists the nurses and physicians in delivering the highest standard of patient care available.Work Hours: 6AM - 4PM, Mon - ThursRoles and ResponsibilitiesTo utilize specialized knowledge of surgical techniques while giving direct and indirect patient care.Assists in set-up of operating room with all necessary equipment and supplies.Assists with the preparation, transportation, and monitoring of patients.Provides assistance to team members, physicians, and anesthesia personnel as needed (i.e. reliability, initiative, work relations, training needs).Reviews physicians' preference cards and updates as needed. Ability to handle stress associated with prioritizing multiple tasks. Selects equipment and supplies in an organized, cost effective and timely manner.Performs other tasks as assigned.Experience Requirements2 years of operating room experience preferredEffective communication skills; oral and writtenFamiliarity with standard surgical instruments and equipmentKnowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and Medical office softwareStrong organization skillsSelf-Motivated with problem-solving skillsEducation RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED requiredPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
