We invite you to join us as we strive to be The Most Trusted Partner for Health.The Oncology Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist(s) with the preparation, labeling and delivery of medications in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy and adheres to the policies and procedures of INTEGRIS Health. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. The Oncology Pharmacy Technician is also responsible for the timely procurement of pharmaceuticals, equipment and supplies in accordance with guidelines of existing contracts and within current policies governing purchasing. INTEGRIS Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.ResponsibilitiesThe Oncology Pharmacy Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Procures pharmaceuticals, supplies and equipment on a routine or emergency basis by utilizing automated ordering devices or manual methods Negotiates and manages pharmaceuticals, supplies and equipment contracts. Ensures receipt of all orders and placement of these products into their appropriate location within the Pharmacy Verifies and processes all invoices, purchase orders, receipts and stock requisitions within the department Maintains system of all purchase transactions, current contracts, ordering information, usage information, federal forms and company catalogs Obtains drug products, prepares them in the appropriate containers, labels those containers and presents them to a registered pharmacist for review and approval Operates and restocks automatic dispensing machines Receives and handles hazardous drugs according to established guidelines Prepares or compounds sterile products, chemotherapy and intravenous medications upon physicians orders. Maintains clean and safe operation of biological safety cabinets and specialty rooms Assists in maintaining logs, records and other required documentation Prepares reports regarding the operations of the pharmacy department Reports to the Pharmacy Manager, ICIO. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. May be exposed to some compounds that have been classified as hazardous by OSHA and have been demonstrated to cause cancers and birth defects in humans and animals. Mixing experience preferred. Passed National Certification exam as a Pharmacy Technician within 180 days of hire date. Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written) Must complete training or demonstrate equivocal vocational training on handling, preparation and disposal of cytotoxic and biohazardous agents within 30 days of hireMust complete training or demonstrate equivocal vocational training on aseptic technique and sterile product preparation within 30 days of hire HS Diploma/GED
