Initial tech Screening, If approved followed by Coding test for 1 hour and then 1 client round. We are looking for a Database Developer who brings strong expertise in relational database design , SQL optimization , and Java-based application development . This role is critical to building scalable, performant data-driven systems. The ideal candidate has a passion for designing data models that support complex business logic, understands production-grade engineering practices, and can collaborate effectively across backend and data engineering teams. Responsibilities Design and implement relational database schemas to support transactional and reporting systems. Develop Java-based APIs and backend services with a strong focus on data integrity, performance, and maintainability. Participate in end-to-end system design discussions , especially related to how data is stored, accessed, and scaled. Write and tune complex SQL queries , including joins, views, stored procedures, and indexing strategies. Apply performance best practices to code and database layers, including query tuning, caching , and connection pooling . Ensure all deliverables are production-ready , including well-commented code, logging, error handling, and runtime observability. Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and product teams to ensure stable releases and efficient debugging in production environments. Must-Have Skills 5+ years hands-on experience in Java (preferably Spring Boot) development with strong focus on backend systems. Deep knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle. Proven experience with database normalization, data modeling, indexing , and large-scale query optimization. Strong SQL coding and tuning skills, including ability to troubleshoot slow-performing queries . Exposure to API development that interacts with backend data stores and supports reporting or data exports. Experience handling production deployments , debugging runtime issues, and ensuring system observability. Good-to-Have Skills Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) and when to use them. Familiarity with Kafka , event-driven design, and data streaming. Hands-on with CI/CD tools , cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Exposure to reporting systems , data pipelines , or ETL workflows . #J-18808-Ljbffr
