The
After School Staff
member will provide a supportive function for one of our Brooklyn After School programs in the role of either an - Assistant Group Leader or - Group Leader
Reports to:
Program Director (After Schools) Location:
One of our Various Brooklyn Sites Hours:
Up to 18 Hours/Week; Non Exempt Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 2pm - 6:00pm Salary:
$16.50/hr - 18.50/hr
Major Duties: 1) Assistant Group Leader Assist the Group Leader with activities, including sports, movement, and recreation, educational activities and arts and crafts. 2) Group Leader Plan and facilitate integrated learning, recreational, arts and developmentally appropriate activities for youth. Collaborate with and direct program aides. 3) All Staff Complete required documentation. Participate in training and staff development activities. Demonstrate effective classroom management skills. Ensure a safe and engaging group environment.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Group Leaders - High School Diploma / GED and 1 year of working with youth required. Assist Group Leader - Experience Working with Youth preferred. Ability to complete medical and DOHMH/DOE clearances and fingerprints. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. Ability to lead and participate in group activities, sports and recreation. Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
