We are looking for a part-time Administrative Assistant for Continuing Education & Workforce Development (CE&WD) to perform routine office functions as well as a variety of tasks that require planning and organization to support department staff and maintain office workflow and quality standards. This is an hourly, part-time position.
Example of Duties : Communicate with students, staff, visitors, and members of the public via telephone, electronic media, and in person to provide information regarding College and CE&WD programs, activities, and policies Register students for classes Perform data entry, maintain program databases, and operate computer software programs in use at the College; compose correspondence, documents, and classroom materials Organize, process and distribute course paperwork (i.e. rosters and attendance) Maintain staff and departmental calendars and schedules; schedule meetings and appointments Process, sort, and organize documents, data, information, and records Maintain file systems, logs and records in electronic and hard copy formats, including confidential files Compile data and information for reports and analysis Maintain office supplies and materials Deliver documents and materials, as needed Perform related duties as assigned Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred One year of clerical or administrative experience required, preferably in an educational setting Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software programs; knowledge of Colleague preferred Ability to work both cooperatively and independently and to organize and manage multiple projects Outstanding interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, including experience working with diverse populations; bilingual skills a plus Must maintain high levels of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate. Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The minimum hourly pay for this position is $16. Benefits: New Jersey Sick Leave : Earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year.
