.NET Developer Location: Indianapolis (Hybrid
3 days onsite) Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months, with potential for permanent hire)
Responsibilities Youll work alongside business stakeholders, compliance teams, and technical architectscontributing not only through hands-on coding but also by providing technical leadership and mentoring junior developers. Responsibilities Lead the design and development of modern .NET applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability. Contribute to enterprise modernization initiatives, including migration from .NET Framework to .NET Core/.NET 8+. Build and optimize applications on AWS cloud services (Lambda, SQS/SNS, S3, ECS/EKS). Develop and optimize database solutions with SQL Server and T-SQL, including performance tuning. Collaborate with business and compliance teams to ensure regulatory requirements are met (SOX, PCI DSS, FCRA). Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship to junior engineers. Champion the use of modern development practices, including AI-driven productivity tools like GitHub Copilot.
Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional .NET development (Framework 4.8.x and .NET 8+). Proven experience with enterprise-scale application development involving complex business logic and high-volume transactions. Hands-on experience with AWS services for application deployment. Strong proficiency in SQL Server, T-SQL, and Entity Framework (including migrations from EF 6 to EF Core). Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
Preferred Experience Background in financial services, especially student lending or credit evaluation systems. Experience in legacy system modernization and migration projects. Familiarity with microservices and event-driven architectures. Knowledge of compliance frameworks in regulated industries (SOX, PCI DSS, FCRA).
