Overview: This is a great job for someone who likes to work for a small, independent, woman-owned company, enjoys being busy and thinking on their feet, and has a good eye for detail. The Hotel Concierge is responsible for leading our concierge practice through the development of resources and relationships that help us provide our guests with the best experiences Austin has to offer. This is an important role for the Heywood, as our hotel's brand distinction is our insider knowledge of Austin. Our Hotel Concierge has expert knowledge of Austin's attractions, restaurants, bars, and transportation systems, and has a discerning eye in providing appropriate recommendations to guests. Key Responsibilities: In addition to performing guest service responsibilities, the Hotel Concierge must be able to provide accurate and on-brand recommendations to our guests. Further, the Hotel Concierge assists in our

concierge-related materials and information systems , including our Guest Directory and our Website CMS, to ensure completeness, clarity and currency of the information. The Hotel Concierge

assists with management of our tours and activities programs , helping establish commission-based partnerships with local tour operators, providing information for marketing those services to guests, and arranging tours on behalf of guests. The Hotel Concierge

interfaces with the marketing team

in order to provide expert guidance on local Austin activities, restaurants, and happenings. They will assist with

creation of room guides and promotional materials

highlighting concierge recommendations and helping to promote the hotel. This role may also contribute to

social media marketing and website content , based on interest and aptitude. This is a hands-on role. The Hotel Concierge will work the front desk and assist guests as needed, performing

desk reception and reservations duties . This role will check in guests, greeting them when they arrive and guiding them through the check in process. Like all employees, the Hotel Concierge will pitch in as needed to ensure the overall cleanliness and preparation of the hotel and guest rooms, including room setup, laundry, dishes, light housekeeping, light maintenance tasks, administrative tasks, office management, ordering supplies, taking inventories, writing emails, making phone calls, etc. Our stellar front desk agents / concierges work directly with our guests to make sure they have exactly what they need for a fantastic stay. Work includes preparing guest rooms and amenities, taking reservations, welcoming guests as they check in, directing them to the best Austin restaurants, cocktail lounges and activities, and assisting them with whatever they may need throughout their stay. Our front desk agents help out with general hotel preparedness, including stocking supplies, managing inventories, preparing and quality-checking rooms, folding laundry and ensuring general hotel tidiness. We are a small and gutsy team. Everybody pitches in to deliver a world-class experience! Details: Schedule: Fixed weekly, 3-4 days, 16-24 hours weekly. Shifts: 7:45am-3:00pm and 2:00pm-7:00pm, with some weekends and holidays required. NO OVERNIGHT SHIFTS. Must be available to be on-call one or two evenings per week for (rare) after-hours guest service calls. After-hours coverage is paid.
