$90,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr
Job Description
Independently assess community water and wastewater infrastructure needs and identify practical solutions.
Develop clear, well‑organized planning documents and technical reports (e.g., Preliminary Engineering Reports).
Prepare preliminary and detailed project designs that municipalities can use to secure infrastructure funding.
Lead meetings with community stakeholders to gather information, present recommendations, and build project support and engagement.
Depending on experience and background, also contribute to additional project areas such as evaluating innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies, analyzing the design, cost, and environmental impacts of infrastructure projects, or supporting other related technical efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, or the ability and commitment to obtain a PE license within 12 months of hire.
5+ years of relevant experience in municipal water or wastewater system planning and design, with exposure to a variety of treatment systems. Experience with funding, financing, and governance frameworks for Capital Improvement Programs is a plus.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
