Research Engineer – Ultrasonic Sensor and System
Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States.

Qualifications
Ph.D. (preferred) or M.S. with 5+ years of hands‑on experience in designing and developing ultrasonic sensors and instrumentations.
Solid background in ultrasonic principles, guided waves, piezoelectric transducers, pulser/receiver, and system integration.
Experience in FEA simulations of wave propagation for transducer design and testing/measurement of multilayer structures is desirable.
Hands‑on experience in algorithms and application software development for ultrasonic signal/image processing and data analysis is highly desirable.
Track record of R&D excellence, including publications.
Experience in a small R&D organization is highly desired.
Job Duties
Conduct R&D of novel ultrasonic sensor technologies and systems from concepts through prototyping.
Design and develop ultrasonic NDT/SHM system prototypes using modeling, simulation, prototyping, and testing.
Test and improve prototype hardware and software.
Write research technical reports and proposals.
Education Ph.D. (preferred) or M.S. with 5+ years of experience in EE, ME, Physics, or related field.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
