The Forbion Ventures Fund focuses on preclinical to early clinical biotech companies.

The Opportunity As an Associate / Senior Associate at Forbion, you will support the investment strategy through driving the investment due diligence process and investment thesis generation. Additional activities include assisting in portfolio management as well as management of deal flow processing, platform activities and various ad‑hoc tasks.

This is a global role, where you will be working on both European and US opportunities as well as supporting projects across both our Growth and Ventures fund strategies.

What You Will Do

Due Diligence Management:

Conduct, drive and synthesise the due diligence analysis to support investment recommendation.

Financial Analysis and Modelling:

Conducting financial analysis and modelling of opportunities as part of the due diligence process to assess the attractiveness of a potential investment.

Deal Flow:

Guide Analysts and Associates in the management of deal flow processing and cross‑fund activities. Supporting assessment and sourcing of investment opportunities, leveraging networks and market research. Process deal flow including, but not limited to, logging of materials and company interactions, as well as screening new investment opportunities.

Portfolio Management and Value Creation:

Beyond deal execution, the investment team actively supports portfolio company management teams in developing and executing growth strategies, navigating key challenges, and achieving strategic milestones. The Associate / Senior Associate will have the opportunity to act as a Board Observer for up to 3 companies, contributing to discussions and follow ups.

What We’re Looking For

Educational background as Ph.D. or M.D. in life sciences, medicines, or related fields.

4 - 7 years of experience as an investment professional.

Experience of at least 3 completed transactions, with a meaningful contribution having conducted a proportion of the DD.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Compelling written and oral communication skills and fluency in English as well as the ability to convey ideas to an Investment Committee with confidence and conviction.

Ability to establish a work plan, identify and prioritize areas of due diligence.

Good transaction and investment judgement.
