Staff Display Product Quality Engineer, Raxium Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

10 years of experience in hardware quality, reliability, product engineering, or a similar role focused on optoelectronic products.

8 years of experience leading cross‑functional teams to solve technical problems and drive quality improvements for key failure modes.

Experience in a customer‑facing quality role, managing escalations for technical issues.

Ability to travel as required.

Preferred qualifications

Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

12 years of experience in the semiconductor manufacturing industry in product quality, supplier quality, etc.

5 years of experience with data analysis (e.g., JMP, Minitab, etc.) in an optics/optoelectronics R&D/manufacturing environment.

5 years of experience in product quality for display products.

Experience driving and implementing structured problem‑solving and quality enhancement methodology including 8D/Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

Experience in defining quality strategy, influencing executive stakeholders, managing executive communications and knowledge of silicon backplane drivers.

About the job As a Staff Display Product Quality Engineer, you will own the quality metrics and strategy for the microLED display panel. You will collaborate extensively with cross‑functional partners in Development (e.g., LED and CMOS), Manufacturing and Operations to embed quality into the display panel life‑cycle. You will leverage your ability to analyze data, drive root cause analysis, and influence design and process improvements.

Google’s Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light‑field display. With start‑up roots and a state‑of‑the‑art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next‑generation display markets.

The U.S. base salary range for this full‑time position is $174,000–$258,000 plus bonus, equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Establish and monitor key quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Analyze wafer manufacturing and field data to develop predictive models and drive continuous improvement in design and processes.

Collaborate with engineering teams to influence design specifications, qualification plans, and test coverage to ensure product robustness and mitigate early risks.

Lead the resolution of systemic quality issues in manufacturing and the field, driving Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA) using structured methodologies.

Serve as the primary contact for customer quality, managing escalations, and integrating feedback. Oversee quality and corrective actions, including Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and Product Change Notification (PCN) qualification.

Cover customer concerns in internal Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and Change Control meetings.
