Salary: $62,868 – $72,298.
The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well‑being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) provides legal representation and advice to the Commissioner and all divisions at ACS. The OGC FOIL/Records Compliance & Records Management Unit seeks a Community Coordinator/ RMU Special Assistant.
The Records and Compliance Unit (RCU) within the OGC is responsible for all FOIL requests for ACS, all closed records requests, liaison duties with the New York City Law Department Torts Division and Special Federal Litigation Unit, and providing advice and support regarding confidentiality of child protective services records and compliance with the Identifying Information Law.
Within RCU, the Records Management Unit (RMU) supports agency-wide records retrieval and storage, coordinates warehouse operations with the vendor warehouse in Jersey City, and ensures compliance with NY Social Services Law regarding State Central Register (SCR) administrative reviews and record expungements.
Responsibilities
Act as liaison for the unit during weekly meetings with the Division of Administration and for the Record Point meetings.
Coordinate all meetings with the Department of Records (DORIS) for ACS divisions and community‑based agencies.
Manage the Warehouse Inventory Tracking System (WITS) for RMU, including access to the WITS database.
Conduct weekly WITS trainings in‑person and virtually for agency and non‑agency staff.
Manage the WITS warehouse unit and conduct weekly meetings with staff assigned to the WITS unit.
Manage all RMU projects related to WITS, including scheduling all warehouse WITS deliveries and the quality assurance process for WITS entries.
Respond promptly to inquiries sent to the shared WITS electronic mailboxes.
Prepare reports on all daily WITS trainings for all ACS offices and departments.
Manage special projects with agency divisions, contracted vendors and the GRM warehouse for storage of records.
Assist with managing the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) digital system, including scheduling trainings for agency staff.
Assist the Director of the Warehouse with administrative duties within the warehouse.
Prepare reports on all daily WITS trainings for all ACS offices and departments throughout the five boroughs.

Minimum Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community‑centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community‑centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
Education and/or experience equivalent to options 1 or 2, but all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in option 1.

Demonstrate ability to exercise independent judgment
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to take direction from several supervisors
Familiarity with Children’s Services’ policies and procedures
