The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics and Division of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (NDBP) invite applications for Division Director of NDBP. Applicants who are board‑certified in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) or Neurodevelopmental Disability (NDD) or General Academic Pediatrics or have a PhD in Clinical Psychology (with emphasis on children with disabilities including autism or complex care) at the rank of Associate or Full Professor are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement the vision and goals for NDBP in alignment with broader strategic plans for the Department of Pediatrics and UVA Health Children’s.
Lead faculty in clinical service, including the three Tracks of Care—motor/medical complexity, autism & other developmental differences, and at‑risk child & family context.
Oversee education of trainees at all levels, including the long‑standing DBP fellowship.
Direct research program development and support faculty research activities.
Manage administrative activities of all NDBP programs, fostering a culture of innovation, quality improvement, and scholarly excellence.
Collaborate with the School of Education to maintain a state‑of‑the‑art multi‑tier autism assessment program and provide leadership for Blue Ridge LEND.
Engage in community outreach and collaboration with patient navigators, clinical social workers, educational consultants, and therapy services.
Qualifications
MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent degree.
Board certified or eligible in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP), Neurodevelopmental Disability (NDD), or General Academic Pediatrics.
Rank of Associate or Full Professor (tenure or non‑tenure track).
Demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary leadership, clinical and academic missions, and managing a complex clinical program.
Active research program preferred.
