Medical Laboratory Technician (3rd Shift) – Parasitology

Shift:
Midnight – 8:30 AM (Monday‑Friday nights, rotating Saturday night every 3rd week)

In This Role
Use automated analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic tools to perform analyses that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases.
Conduct diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or biopsy samples received daily.
Set up and run lab tests, read and release results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Specialize in one or more of the following areas:
Hematology : Enumerate and identify blood cell components, including smear evaluation.
Chemistry / Endocrinology : Test blood and bodily fluids using automated instrumentation.
Urinalysis : Analyze chemical and microscopic components of urine samples.
Cytology : Process fluids for microscopic examination and slide preparation.
Immunology / Serology : Detect antibodies or antigens indicating viral or bacterial disease.
What You'll Need To Succeed
Availability to work the overnight shift.
Will start training in Parasitology, with expected cross‑training in other departments.
High School diploma or equivalent; a 2‑, 3‑, or 4‑year science‑related degree preferred.
Experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT) is a plus.
Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating equipment such as microscopes, pipettes, or diagnostic analyzers.
Positive attitude and team spirit; attention to detail and reliability.
Physical capacity to stand, sit, use a computer, lift up to 50 lb, and maintain good vision (color, depth perception).
Comfort with potential exposure to biohazards or hazardous chemicals.
