The Development Manager at Junior Achievement of Central Texas (JA) is in a leadership role with growth opportunities, responsible for managing- along with Market President, all fundraising and development activities to support the organization's mission of empowering young people to succeed in a global economy. This position involves implementing fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships with donors and partners to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support the execution of annual fundraising plans, including donor cultivation, stewardship, appeals, and campaigns.

Manage donor communications and acknowledgment processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and personalized stewardship.

Support corporate partnership activities by coordinating deliverables, tracking benefits, and maintaining professional communication with partners.

Assist with the grant process, including research, data gathering, drafting sections of proposals, and tracking reporting deadlines.

Maintain accurate donor and prospect records; generate reports and dashboards to inform strategy and track progress.

Events & Logistics

Coordinate fundraising and stewardship events, including registration, vendor communication, sponsorship tracking, volunteer support, and on-site logistics.

Manage event-related follow-up, reporting, and stewardship touchpoints.

Systems & Administration

Maintain development systems, databases, calendars, and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy across the department.

Help monitor development expenses and ensure alignment with budget expectations.

Support cross-department collaboration to ensure smooth execution of donor visits, program tours, cultivation moments, and community engagement opportunities.

Community Engagement

Represent JA at community events, networking opportunities, and partner meetings as appropriate.

Serve as an ambassador of JA’s mission, values, and impact.

Requirements Requirements & Qualifications | Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

3–5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or related nonprofit roles.

Working knowledge of nonprofit fundraising practices, including donor stewardship, corporate partnerships, events, and grant support.

Strong detail oriented organizational, systems, and project management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Graphic communication skills, a plus.

Ability to build strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners.

Comfort working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with professionalism and integrity.

Experience with CRM donor management databases

Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field preferred but equivalent experience welcomed.

Reside in the greater Austin area

\ Salary & Benefits Salary Range:

$65,000 to $75,000 - Salary plus full benefits
