Associate Transportation Engineer

This role leads civil design projects while building client relationships and mentoring others. Success depends on consistency, collaboration, and a commitment to meaningful mentorship. Technical Focus
Extensive background in three‑dimensional roadway, intersection, interchange, or multimodal design. Experience with roadways, intersections, roundabouts, pedestrian/bicycle facilities, shared‑use paths, separated bike lanes, signing and striping plans, traffic signal design plans, and temporary traffic control plans. High proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D, AutoCAD, Microstation, InRoads, Open Roads Designer. Preparation and development of construction documents, reports, plans, quantities, and cost estimates using highway design manuals, NCHRP guidelines, AASHTO policies, MUTCD, and local criteria. Core Responsibilities
Manage, lead, and deliver complex civil design projects. Develop informed scopes, budgets, and schedules for proposals. Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and industry professionals. Impact the financial health of projects and staff growth. Provide meaningful feedback and mentorship for career growth. Qualifications
10-20 years of increasing responsibility for state DOT, county, MPO, city, or other municipal clients. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required in Massachusetts or Rhode Island, with reciprocity in the other state. Clear passion for transportation and experience as a consultant.
