POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Technology Development Team Leader to lead an advanced engineering team focused on developing next‑generation concepts for Electrosurgery generators, including pulsed electric field technologies, ablation treatments, and other surgical energy applications. This role also encompasses exploring high‑efficiency power supply architectures for advanced applications in industry.
The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in power electronics or other relevant areas with strong leadership and coaching skills, fostering innovation and guiding a team of talented engineers toward breakthrough solutions within budget and on schedule.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of engineers
Drive career development through coaching, training, and performance management
Cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence
Research & Innovation:
Oversee concept development for advanced electrosurgical generators and related technologies
Explore emerging technologies in power electronics, surgical energy delivery, and high‑efficiency power conversion
Translate research insights into practical prototypes and future product concepts
Project Management:
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned with strategic goals
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation effectively
Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards for medical devices
Technical Leadership:
Provide expert guidance on power electronics design, control strategies, and system integration
Evaluate and implement cutting‑edge technologies for surgical energy applications
Drive critical thinking and problem‑solving across complex engineering challenges
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including R&D, clinical, and manufacturing
Communicate technical progress and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works in a standard office environment
Domestic and International travel of up to 10%
Interfaces with internal & external customers in all functional areas
SKILLS:
Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing complex projects
Advanced knowledge of power conversion topologies, high‑frequency switching, and control systems
Familiarity with electrosurgical technologies, pulsed electric fields, or ablation systems is highly desirable
Strong coaching and mentoring skills
Excellent project management, budgeting, and scheduling capabilities
Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and technology exploration
Well organized and disciplined
Ability to make independent decisions with initiative and tact
Must be able to interact with people at all levels and locations in the organization
International awareness and sensitivity
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, research‑driven environment
Ph.D or master’s degree in electrical engineering, power electronics, or related field.
Minimum 8+ years in highly‑technical design and development, preferably in medical or high‑reliability systems.
8+ years of experience in leading/managing people and projects (indirect + direct)
Demonstrated communication and leadership skills
